Both Dr. Guiang and Dr. Pang are Board Certified in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Pain Medicine through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

We believe in the academic approach to treating pain and have been past or present members of the teaching faculty at University based teaching programs. Therefore we emphasize evidence based medicine. This means that the treatments we offer are based upon peer reviewed studies and have been shown to offer efficacy regarding the specific syndrome being treated. There are many health care providers who offer treatments without any scientific basis to substantiate their claim that the treatment can be beneficial.

Pain medications are categorized by their mechanism of action. Therefore it is of utmost importance to determine the specific type of pain the patient is experiencing in order to prescribe the most appropriate medication or combination of medications. For instance, some types of neuropathic pain syndromes do not respond at all to the opiate class of medications.
